In this tutorial, we’re giving you a quick guide on how to speed up your internet connection for free, without any hardware or software. This is by far the fastest way to speed up your internet connection, and it is completely free too. Not only will this make browsing the internet much faster, but it will also make your connection more secure too. This method works on Windows 10, but should work on other versions of Windows too.

Before you begin, check the speed of your internet connection by doing a speed test here. Remember your score and perform another test at the end to see how much it speeds up your internet connection. OK, let’s get started.

Step 1.

On your Windows 10 PC, press the Windows key on your keyboard and type “Network status” then press Enter.

Now click on Change adapter options.

Step 3.

Now right click on the network adapter you’re using to connect to the internet and go to Properties. In my case I’m using a wired connection so I’ll select my Ethernet cable.

Now double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and go into its Properties.

Step 5.

In the Properties window, make sure “Use the following DNS server addresses” is checked. Now set your Preferred DNS server to 1.1.1.1 and your Alternative DNS server to 1.0.0.1 then click OK.
